Web Design – Bristol UWE

Last month I went to a lecture at Bristol UWE run by Dan Dixon the program leader for Web Design at UWE. The course is located in the BIT section of UWE (Bristol Institute of Technology)

Dan talked about how Web Design at Bristol UWE isn’t actually designing a website then publishing it. You have too take one large step back to who you are designing the system for, what are the accessibility needs etc.

If you follow this link below you will see the program structure to how the course is actually run over the three years.

Optional 4th Placement Year.

Just Creative Design (JCD)

I found this interesting website this afternoon. Its kept and managed by a man called Jacob Cass – he shares his ideas of what makes a good design and how to write up briefs etc.

The site aslso has interesting articles like top 100 fonts and step by steps on how to start your designs thus following onto how much to charge for your designs.

This would be my ultimate dream to have a site like this and share my knowledge with other designers! What a role model!

Take a look at his site, and follow him on twitter.

Take care and follow me on twitter!

So the designs are nearly don’t, I’m including blog banners and mailing litrature for A Design Students Blog!
